What the Reviews Keep Saying in Derry, NH

September 11, 2026 — Breathe CrossFIt

We have a 5-star rating from 142 Google reviews, which is nice to look at. What’s more useful is reading them back to back, because the same three or four things come up over and over. Here they are, in members’ own words.

“Genuinely beginner-friendly”

The most common thread is people who were nervous to walk in. One member wrote in a Google review: “Trying a new gym—especially something like CrossFit—can be really intimidating, but at Breathe from day one, the atmosphere is welcoming and genuinely beginner-friendly, which makes it so much easier to get started without feeling overwhelmed. For newbies they work with you one on one to start to give you a chance to get comfortable, understand the structure, and build confidence before jumping into group classes.”

That’s the actual process, not a marketing line. You start with us one on one before you’re in a group class of 5 to 15 people.

The community is the part people stay for

One review came after two years of membership: “A lot of places seem great at the beginning, but once the ‘new’ wears off you start to notice the little quirks. That’s why I waited. And honestly? The gym has only gotten better… The community is hands down the best part. No one acts like they’re better than anyone els…”

Another member wrote: “From the owners to the coaches and members, everyone is incredibly friendly, supportive, and welcoming. The atmosphere is so positive and motivating - it makes you actually look forward to working out!”

We do our part on purpose — regular check-ins, weekly wins in the members-only Facebook group, and milestones, anniversaries and birthdays marked along the way. The rest is the people who show up.

Coaching that fits the stage you’re in

A member who trained through several very different chapters wrote in a Google review: “Coaches are amazing. Safe and welcoming environment for all skills levels. Personally, I’ve trained for general health, basic combat training and then pregnancy… There is truly something for everyone to do at whatever stage of life you’re in!”

Every class is coached. We care more about moving well than moving fast and heavy, and if you need to pull back, we’ll say so. That’s how a room of 5 to 15 people at different levels works in the same 60 minutes.

Parents get looked after too

One member wrote: “Toni, Eli, and the team do such an incredible job creating thoughtful, creative programming that truly supports families — not just individual athletes… Recently attending one of their hosted mom groups was such a joy. It was a warm, welcoming space to get out of the house during the colder months, connect with other moms, and move our bodies in a way that felt approac…”

Another, a “busy mom of two,” wrote that Breathe “has become such an important and rewarding outlet for me.”

What to make of it

Strip away the ratings and what’s left is this: people were nervous, the start was handled one on one, the coaching kept them safe, and the community kept them coming back. Nobody mentions the equipment.
