Training Through a Derry September
September 11, 2026 — Breathe CrossFIt
September in Derry is the month everything moves. School buses are back on Manchester Road, the light goes earlier every week, and the 5am walk to the car finally needs a sweatshirt. Summer training in New Hampshire is loose by nature — vacations, cookouts, the lake, a class here and there. September is when that looseness either turns into a real routine or quietly turns into nothing at all. Our whole job this month is making sure it’s the first one.
The schedule is the hard part, not the workout
Most people who fall off in September don’t fall off because training got too hard. They fall off because the family calendar changed overnight and nobody rebuilt the plan around it. Soccer practice, a new commute, a 7pm bedtime that’s suddenly non-negotiable.
We’re open Monday through Friday, 5:00am to 7:00pm. That’s deliberate. The 5am hour exists for the people who know that if they don’t train before the house wakes up, it isn’t happening. The evening end of the day exists for the people who can’t touch a barbell until the kids are handed off. Pick the one that survives a bad week, not the one that works on a perfect week.
Cool mornings are good training weather
CrossFit classes here are coach-led, 60 minutes, and usually 5 to 15 people. High intensity, strength and conditioning, with a coach watching you the whole hour. September mornings in Derry are cool enough that the conditioning pieces feel better than they did in August — but cool also means you need a real warm-up. Show up a few minutes early, especially if you’re coming straight from a car seat after a 20-minute drive. We care more about moving well than moving fast and heavy, and that starts before the clock does.
Food gets complicated in the fall
Summer eating is simple: grill something, eat something off the grill. September brings packed lunches, drive-through dinners between activities, and the first round of candy in the house. Our nutrition program is built for exactly that — support to make better food choices without the overwhelm, so you build habits that hold up through a busy fall instead of a plan that collapses the first hectic Tuesday.
If your fall schedule is genuinely unpredictable, personal training is the other route. One coach, your goals, your available hours.
How we keep you honest through the fall
We check in with members regularly and adjust the plan when it needs adjusting — because a September plan and a November plan usually aren’t the same plan. Wins get shared in our members-only Facebook group every week, which matters more than you’d think when it’s dark at 5pm. And if something real comes up, there’s a hold option instead of disappearing.
Starting is one conversation. Book a free No Sweat Intro: we sit down, talk about you and your goals, figure out what success looks like to you, and map out how to get there. You can look at memberships and pricing first, or just get in touch and we’ll find you a time this week.
